Maybe Western Digital company it is not known to everyone, but SanDisk brand itself, which it owns, will immediately explain everything. In recent days, during the Mobile World Congress, this company presented new speed and capacity results of its products. And we’re not talking about small numbers here.

At MWC Western Digital had the chance to show their latest model SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSDXC, which is probably the fastest card on the market at the moment. What’s more, the presented model also has an amazing capacity, offering the user up to 400 GB of data space. The technique used to achieve these effects required the use of 3D NAND flash memory devices. According to the data presented by the manufacturer, the latest card model will allow us to transmit data at up to 160 MB / s. This is certainly a new record in this field, especially since the results are 50%. better than the current generation of the fastest SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSD cards available in the company’s offer. Of course, the product will comply with the A2 specification, allowing you to start and load applications stored on it instantly.

The new SD card standard is approaching

The market will not resign from timeless SD cards so easily. Although in this case thanks to Western Digital, the standard of these cards can rise significantly. All thanks to the presented SanDisk Extreme PRO model, memory with a third generation PCI-e 1x interface. At the moment, through the new interface used in it, the product is only at the conceptual model stage. Nevertheless, the use of such an interface will certainly bring many positive benefits. We will see this especially with the results of the SanDisk Extreme PRO model, which can now reach almost 900 MB/s during reading. It is also worth remembering that the PCI-e standard itself still has development perspectives ahead of it. That is why Western Digital has high hopes for the possibility of obtaining even faster data transfers for its products.
